so, what's happening

nothing much! as far as my writing goes...

again its been 2 years and close to 2 quarters before I could peek back here; shame. the only good thing is I matched the pattern perfectly as the previous gap was about the same.

Let's see ... by late 2009 I was more or less Londonised and was working hard towards my driver's license!

I have since obtained my license and moved to yet another house, also in west London where I am still living. My younger kid is also going to school now and the elder one has grown so much in the last few months, she constantly reminds me I should sort out where I will be based sooner than later...

So, apart from going thru the routine grind of mid-life both at work and home, I did get the opportunity to be exposed to various charity orgs ranging from spirituality, healthy living to community service and its been a great experience meeting people....

ok, am not giving up yet! for the nth time am going to give this another try! its already an year since I tried last :) it seems I was so lazy or hesitant or whatever that I didn't even publish the last post... I can promise I will at least publish this time!

OK quick status update then to continue on that tradition ... while I am still living in the same 'new mansion' in west London I got the formal permanent resident status and for once need not worry about the expiry dates in my and my family members' passports... ironically with the little one now on UK passport we still have one status bit to sort out and hope to close the loop on that by applying for his Indian PIO / OCI card...

A routine India trip for the family during the July-Sep school vacation may happen and whether I would join them or not depends on my work situation and another key development which I will come to next...

And that is sort of the re-incorporation of my business! I birthed Nischala Inc. in Q2 2011 which was mostly used for facilitating my contracting roles at work - and with the final answer to my move back home resolving to June 2014 I started reviewing my plans for entrepreneurship (PravanaEET progressed but I lost out as the decision was only who could dedicate 100% of their time would get a share in the partnership) and regrouping with a couple of friends from UK and one from the US.. and potentially 1 other friend in the UK who might collaborate either directly as part of one combined venture or compliment each other's business model... its a very humble start up effort which is in the initial discussions / strategy development stage as I type this... to help mature the ideas am starting a wordpress.com blog (id: byreeka) to engage both my core team and some of my other long time buddies in US/India and help with the basic comms...

Having said that I hope to provide updates in this blog on how the start-up effort is progressing and probably lot of India news around what/where/how related to the move and then that all important kids' schooling

I will end this post with a thought that I foresee some change to my tactical / day-to-day routine finally in the next year relative to the past 11+ years of my married life... even though there have been slight changes in the last year or so like my efforts to go back to the gym, play some tennis, learn/practise bit of swimming... on those lines I want to see if I can add 'cycling to work' in the future...
